The same Pastor Penuel of End time ministries in South Africa, who recently fed his members with live snakes, have also asked them, mostly women, to pull off their bras and pants and eat them.

A seven-year-old boy, identified simply as Promise, has been stabbed by her mother with broken bottles for allegedly defiling his two-year-old step-sister and the daughter of a neighbour.

The incident happened on Monday on Tunde Olusola Street, in the Ijaiye-Ojokoro area of Lagos.

The mother, Mrs. Blessing Fred, was said to have gone out with her daughter on Sunday, leaving Promise behind.

It was gathered that while the mother was away, Promise went to visit five-year-old Yemi (pseudonym) ─ the neighbour’s daughter ─ at her parents’ apartment. He was said to have met Yemi alone and took her to his mother’s room.

On getting to the room, he reportedly told her to remove her clothes and lie down. It was said that he slept on top of the girl and fiddled with her private parts.

FCT installs security gadgets on urban buses

 

One year after two attacks on Nyanya Motor Park by terrorists, the Federal Capital Territory Administration has commenced the installation of security gadgets on all its urban buses to forestall similar attacks in future.

The FCTA , which said it had convicted over 200 motorists since January 2015 for contravening the law on restriction and designated routes, also stated that the ban on commercial motorcycles, mini buses and tricycles, also known as Keke NAPEP, for transportation was still in force.

The Assistant Director/Head of Mass Transit (Transportation Secretariat), FCT, Mr. Adewale Alebiosu, said while some were convicted and given option of fines, others were sentenced to different terms of imprisonment at Kuje Prison.

Community protests, accuses Lagos of selling recreation ground

 

Residents of the Amuwo Odofin Low-cost Housing Estate have accused the Lagos State Building and Investment Company of selling a piece of land reportedly earmarked for recreation.

The residents, who protested on Saturday against the decision, said the land served as a playing ground for children and a venue for public functions in the community. They added that they were recently told by LBIC to stay away from the land.

The community alleged that LBIC had made a similar move in 2001 when a woman claimed the agency sold the land to her. It was learnt that some residents petitioned the state government, which stopped the move then.

PUNCH Metro gathered that four residents – J.A. Akinbohun, D.O. Ojelabi, S.A. Elegbede and one Olatunji ─ had, in a suit no ID/674/01, sued the woman, Lagos State Ministry of Youth, Ministry of Lands, LBIC and the Attorney General of the state in respect of the land.

One-year-old Opeyemi Yusuf was licking a lollipop, comfortably straddled to her grandma’s back en route to the market, when a bullet pierced through the back of their tricycle.

It hit Opeyemi in the head and penetrated to Mrs. Osayemi Victoria’s head, killing both victims on the spot.

Opeyemi was her mother’s only child, while the 57-year-old grandma was reportedly visiting when tragedy struck.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the tricycle they boarded ran into the middle of a gun battle between rival cult groups along Ishawo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The incident, which happened on Tuesday, was said to have created confusion as residents ran helter-skelter.

The driver of the tricycle, Awoyemi Olaoluwa, said the single bullet pierced through the nylon back side of the tricycle and hit the duo who was in the middle.

The other two passengers, on the right and left, escaped unhurt.

Police kill robbers in gun duel, arrest six car snatchers

 

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command on Thursday engaged suspected armed robbers in a gun duel at Nchia, Eleme Local Government Area, killing two of the bandits in the process.

The police recovered one pump action gun, a locally made pistol, 15 live cartridges, one red mask and assorted charms.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, disclosed that no police life was lost during the gun fire that lasted about 20 minutes.

NDLEA destroys 116 million hectares of cannabis farms, convicts 20, arrests 205

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has said that at least, 20 persons have been convicted for trafficking illicit drugs in the last one year.

The number of convictions, according to the law enforcement agency, came from 246 suspects arrested for the offence in Edo State within one year.

NDLEA also said that over 116 million hectares of cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) farms were destroyed while 29, 516kg of different types of hard drugs had been seized.

12 cultists in police net over Calabar killings

 

No fewer than 12 cultists will be charged to court in relation to various killings in Calabar and other parts of Cross River State, the police said.

The cultists, who are currently in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Cross River State Police Command in Calabar, are still being investigated before they would be prosecuted for offences committed at the law court.

Residents of Calabar had in recent times been terrorised by activities of various cult groups. The situation is not different from other major towns in the state where the groups had been involved in killing and maiming of innocent people.

Lagos State issues 21-day ultimatum to motorcycle riders

 

The Lagos State Government has given okada (motorcycle) riders in the state 21-day ultimatum to leave restricted routes.

The government met with okada unions on Thursday at the state secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, where the ultimatum was given.

The Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Tunji Bello, who chaired the meeting, said the government decided to give the riders 21-day ultimatum for the unions to sensitise their members to vacate the restricted routes before enforcement would begin.

Police arrest man for raping boy, 8

 
The Bauchi State Police Command says it arrested an 18-year-old man for raping an eight-year-old boy.

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said the suspect, Mustapha Abdullahi, committed the offence on Saturday at about 4pm.

He added that police detectives attached to the Dass division arrested Abdullahi in Wandi District in the Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The PPRO said, “The suspect lured an eight-year-old boy and had unlawful carnal knowledge of him against the order of nature. The victim was rushed to the Dass General Hospital for medical examination.

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 52-year-old school teacher, Isaac Ikiabeke, for allegedly raping a 5-year-old pupil in the Ikorodu area.

Ikiabeke, who is the proprietor of the school, Brighter Glory School, located on Etunrere Street, raped his victim after school hours.

The victim, five-year-old Pat (not her real name), said Ikiabeke had allegedly raped her 10 times.

Man drowns friend for shunning cult group

 

The police in Lagos are on the trail of a suspected cultist, Anu Olokodana, for allegedly killing his friend, Adeleke Awosiga.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Awosiga drew Olokodana’s ire when he refused to join his friend’s cult group in the Isheri, Ojodu Berger area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Olokodana, who reportedly celebrated his birthday on the day of the incident, drowned Awosiga in a swimming pool during the party.
