Adamawa State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has allayed fears over insinuations that the State House of Assembly is bracing to impeach the newly sworn in governor of the state, Barr Bala James Ngillari.
The chairman made the disclosure during an interactive session with newsmen yesterday in Yola.
Anxiety had engulfed the state after an Abuja High Court sacked acting governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was the speaker of the State House of Assembly and reinstated the former deputy governor who resigned from office in controversial circumstances in the wake of Governor Nyako’s impeachment saga.
It was feared that Fintiri who was irked by the development may supervise the impeachment of Governor Bala Ngillari who was behind his recent travails if he finally retains his position as speaker.

Governor Bala Ngillari and Fintiri who hail from the same Madagali local government of Adamawa State have been long standing political foes over struggles for the control of the party’s soul in the local government.
Their political differences have caused stalemate in the local government as they struggle to outdo each other over the chairmanship of the local government.
The favoured candidate of Fintiri, James Abawu Watharda, who won the election was challenged by Ngillari’s candidate, Mr Maina Ularamu, leading to a stalemate as a Yola High Court sacked Watharda while an Appeal Court upturned the decision as both politicians claim chairing the local government.
Despite the differences between the two politicians, the party chairman said there was no cause for alarm as the party is on top of the situation and will not allow anything unsavoury to happen.
“The question of impeachment does not arise. They have the party to obey. We cannot allow crisis to happen. There will be peace,” he said.
