Ten prisoners of a Philippines city correctional facility, including two Chinese nationals, were executed in a projectile blast after a gunfight at the superintendent's office.
Police said on Friday that the superintendent of the Paranaque City correctional facility in metropolitan Manila was injured in the occurrence, which happened on Thursday evening.
Jose Carumba, the Municipality's Police Chief, said that the prisoners, the majority of who were confined on medication related charges, had set a meeting with the superintendent inside his office and were at the accepting range when a hullabaloo broke out.
"The superintendent said he heard a shot, which incited him to snatch his gun.
"The prisoners continued terminating at him, so the superintendent continued terminating back as he attempted to advance out of his office. It was then that the projectile blasted," he said.
It was still indistinct who was in charge of the projectile impact.
