Gospel singer, Goke Bajowa, has been in the music industry for the past 10 years and may not have been as popular as he is now.
It took him just to feature celebrated
gospel singer, Tope Alabi, for him to ‘blow’ all of a sudden. Now, Goke
Bajowa is gradually becoming more popular.
Speaking on why he chose to feature Tope Alabi in his latest album, Ojumo Ire,
Goke said, “Tope Alabi is our big sister. She has a lot of followers.
She wanted to help me out in the industry so that more people would
identify with my music. I was the one that needed her and I am grateful
that she accepted to feature in my song,” he said.
And now, Goke said the acceptance of his music has been awesome since his latest album came out.
“People have been calling me from everywhere. The acceptance has been incredible. I am really excited about it,” he said.
Goke, who said he has been doing gospel
music since he started his musical career, explained that he grew up in
the church and has listened to gospel music all his life, thus the
reason he had to do gospel music and not secular.
“I think God wanted me to be a gospel
singer. Whenever He wants you do something, He would put you in a place
where you would get acquainted with whatever He wants you to do or be.
All my life, I have been used to gospel music. Although I appreciate
good music even if it is secular, I think God wanted me to do gospel and
impact lives,” he said.
