Super Eagles forward, Aaron Samuel, has
said the team will play their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier
against Chad in Kaduna on Saturday like a cup final.
The Guangzhou R&F striker told thenff.com that
he was disappointed with the country’s failure to qualify for the 2015
Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, adding that the Eagles would
qualify for the 2017 edition.
He said, “I was very disappointed when
we didn’t qualify for the last Africa Cup of Nations. I think it was a
setback in my career. My dream is to play in the tournament.”
Samuel added, “But this time around, we will treat all our matches like a cup final.
“The match (against Chad) will be difficult just like the other matches against Egypt and Tanzania.
“We will play each match with the aim of winning.
“Starting with a win will boost our confidence level ahead of the other matches.
“Chad too will be coming to win but we will do everything to get the maximum points.”
