Amaechi, who spoke on Tuesday evening when he appeared on
‘Hard Facts’, a live phone-in radio programme, which was monitored in
Port Harcourt, the state capital, said he would never dump the All
Progressives Congress (APC) to return to the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) adding that there were plots to defraud the states once Jonathan
is re-elected.
He said, “I will remain in the All Progressives
Congress (APC) and I will support APC. I have seen that the state needs
to support APC; the reason, being that I am supporting APC, not because I
have not performed; but because if President Goodluck Jonathan wins a
second term, the economy will crash.
“If he wins a second term,
nothing will happen here. The only thing that will happen here is that
buccaneers will loot the cash; all the money we are getting. They have
already apportioned who will get what money.”
The governor
expressed mixed feelings on the nation’s development strides, even as
the country celebrates its 54th Independence anniversary, describing as
diversionary, federal government’s claims that the fall in revenue
allocation to states was as a result of oil theft.
Amaechi said,
“Today is better; tomorrow is bad; next tomorrow may be worse. It has
never been this bad. It wasn’t that bad during Shagari government as it
is now. As I told you, some states can’t pay salaries.
